AI stands as the most disruptive force in our world today.
It threatens the creative professions. It undermines our ability to discern what is real. It promises nothing but chaos for our political system, which is already dominated by bad faith actors.
But we’re not talking about that today.
Someone has found a great way to use AI to stick it to some of the most loathsome parasites in the world.
If you ever spend any time on YouTube, you’ve probably come across a guy who operates under the name Kitboga.
For the last five years, he’s been bugging the scammers who routinely prey on the elderly and the most vulnerable.
These scum berate their victims into giving up their private banking details.
Kitboga was moved to act after his grandparents, who suffered from dementia, were targeted.
With the help of a voice modulator, he’s developed a cast of rotating players to confound these con artists.
My favorite has to be Edna, the elderly woman who somehow manages to confuse even the most dedicated scammer. Kitboga possesses a Herculean ability to talk over people screaming at him. What’s sad is when you realize the way they curse him out is the way they routinely harass any of their elderly marks.
Kitboga keeps these scammers on the phone for hours. They think they are going to get gift cards or wire transfers or cryptocurrency. All they get is aggravation.
Every moment they waste on him is a moment they aren’t harassing innocent folks. But as even Kitboga acknowledged, he’s just one person.
No longer.
Through some clever programming, he recently developed an army of robo-callers who turn the tables on the scam centers.
Now it’s not one criminal stopped, it’s an entire fleet of felons being cash-blocked.
It’s wonderful. See for yourself.
For a beta program, this is astonishingly effective. I had no idea that there were scammers out there who pretend to be publishing houses just to bilk aspiring writers. Anything that keeps these jackoffs occupied is a good thing.
Not all heroes wear capes.
Some rock gray wigs.
Enjoy a couple more of Kitboga’s greatest hits. You’ll find dozens more on his YouTube channel. In a world with little accountability, these videos are both entertaining and satisfying.
