As news broke yesterday of ICE agents killing ICU nurse Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller referred to him as an “assassin” on Twitter.

Kristi Noem, secretary of Homeland Security, said he brandished a gun and approached officers.

Gregory Bovino, commander-at-large for ICE, stated Pretti was there to “massacre” law enforcement.

On CNN today, Bovino doubled down and stated that his agents were the “true victims.”

Never mind the number of videos that completely contradict the narrative they are trying to push.

When ICE agent Jonathan Ross murdered Renee Good earlier this month, shooting her in her car and calling her a “fucking bitch,” the White House swiftly labeled her a “domestic terrorist.”

First they kill Americans in the streets, then they assassinate their characters to justify their murders.

As historian Heather Cox Richardson stated, we know they’re lying, they know they’re lying, they know that we know they’re lying, and they’re still demanding that we believe those lies.

Mind you, the administration’s strategy is nothing new. It’s a trademark of authoritarian regimes, perfected in the 20th century by the Nazis.

When it comes to Pretti, the evidence comes from multiple videos from different angles. They clearly show he was holding his phone, filming ICE agents. He helped a woman who had been pepper-sprayed and knocked down.

ICE agents descended on Pretti in a frenzy. Pretti was on his back on the ground. An agent fired multiple shots into Pretti.

Now imagine losing a child and then listening to your own government smear him.

Pretti’s parents, Michael and Susan, felt they had to issue a statement to respond to the administration’s lies about their son.

“We are heartbroken, but also very angry.

“Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see his impact.

“I do not throw around the ‘hero’ term lightly. However, his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehenisble and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed.

“Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.”

These are such dark days. 2026 feels like the longest decade of my life, and the year is only a month old.

ICE should be defunded. The United States needs trained immigration officers, not these hooligans with small penis syndrome and itchy trigger fingers.

One thing to remember: Trump is not forever. This regime will end.

And all the ICE agents must held criminally accountable for their actions.

There is no statute of limitations on murder.

This country is going to need its own answer to the Nuremberg trials.

May Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, Gregory Bovino, Jonathan Ross, and all the other masked, booted thugs know not a moment of peace in their lifetimes.
