Netflix’s ‘Lucifer’ Season 5 trailer dropped and we might be squealing

After what seems like the longest wait ever, Netflix has released the trailer for “Lucifer” season 5, and it seems downright heaven-sent.

As you might remember, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) had no choice but to return to rule over hell despite the protests of his one true love Chloe (Lauren German).

As this trailer shows – he’s back!

No, not really, not at first.

We’re looking at his evil twin brother Michael (also played by Ellis), out to take and/or destroy Lucifer’s life.

Wait. So that makes Lucifer the good twin?

Hell sure is complicated.

Watch for yourself:

It can’t be overstated how the best thing that ever happened to this show was getting canceled by Fox.

With its new home at Netflix, the show was finally free to explore that complicated relationship with Chloe – and her realization that she loved him no matter that he’s the devil. Ellis and German have mad chemistry.

The first eight episodes of season 5 drop on Netflix Aug. 21.

And in case you missed it, there’s even more good news:

Netflix has renewed the series for a sixth and final season.
