On ‘Big Sky,’ the bravest words in the universe are, ‘Look at me!’

On ABC’s “Big Sky,” the hostage women struggle to escape while murderous Montana trooper Rick Legarski (John Carroll Lynch) tangles with a new foe.

Warning! Mild spoilers follow!

On the episode “Nowhere to Run” (Tuesday at 10:01 p.m.), Legarski looks to cover his tracks after that shock shooting of private investigator Cody Hoyt.

To his partner-in-crime Ronald (Brian Geraghty), he says, “We’re the noble soldiers. This nation is mired in muck. We clean that muck up.”

Ronald’s three prisoners – sex worker Jerrie (Jesse James Keitel) and teenage sisters Danielle (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Grace (Jade Pettyjohn) – struggle to understand their new circumstances.

“This is my biggest nightmare,” Danielle says. “I’m gonna be on ‘Dateline.'”

Grace wonders if they can use Ronald’s weakness against him.

“We either fight back or we don’t,” she says.

In a way, Jerrie’s been hiding in plain sight; perhaps you figured that out.

But it makes her fate all the more precarious with Ronald, who comes for her and demands she take a shower and make herself presentable.

Despite the risk, Jerrie tells her monstrous kidnapper, “Look at me! This is me.”

That act of defiance could cost her greatly.

The dynamic between Ronald and his smothering mother (Valerie Mahaffey) takes an even more twisted turn.

Cody’s fellow private investigator and sometime lover Cassie (Kylie Bunbury) is now looking for the girls and Cody.

That brings her to Legarski, who can’t stop talking about how beautiful she is, in just the skeevy manner you can imagine.

Cassie tells him she thinks the girls’ disappearances are linked to the trucker stops.

Uh-oh.

That’s just what got Cody shot.

And Legarski demands a private word with her in her car.

Yeah, that can’t be good.
