Can America ‘Hold the Line’?

There have been many books about the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Doubtless there will be many more to come.

But you will be hard-pressed to find one more visceral, more frightening, more damning that Michael Fanone’s “Hold the Line: The Insurrection and One Cop’s Battle for America’s Soul.”

Fanone, in video footage of that day seen round the world, was a Metropolitan Police Department officer defending the Capitol when the angry mob of Trump supporters yanked him out of the building and almost killed him.

He was repeatedly Tased, beaten with a Blue Lives Matter flagpole, and kicked.

TFG is Having a Bad Month. Why That’s Great for the Country.

We’re in Year Two of Joe Biden’s presidency, but TFG (The Former Guy) can’t let that election go.

In a recent statement, TFG actually said the quiet, traitorous part aloud:

While repeating his lies about widespread voter fraud, he said that … ‘Mike Pence did have the right to change the outcome … Unfortunately, he didn’t exercise that power. He could have overturned the election!”

You don’t need to be Perry Mason to see this as a confession.

The insurrection never ended

As we mark the one-year anniversary of the assault on our nation’s Capitol, it’s important to note how much has changed – for the worse.

While law enforcement filed charges against over 700 members of the mob, the people who instigated, funded, and organized the insurrection to overturn the 2020 presidential election have not been held accountable.

The Department of Justice has been astonishingly mute. If the FBI is investigating, officials are saying nothing.
