In the latest episode of HBO’s “The Undoing” (Sunday at 9 p.m.), therapist Grace Fraser (Academy Award-winner Nicole Kidman) is desperate to find her oncologist husband Jonathan (Hugh Grant).
Warning! Minor spoilers follow!
In “The Missing,” written by David E. Kelley and directed by Susanne Bier, news spreads that Elena Alves (Matilda De Angelis) is dead, bludgeoned in her own studio.
Jonathan seems to have evaporated into the clouds.
He left his cell phone at home, and Grace’s efforts to track him down at that medical convention in Chicago turn up nothing.
Before he left, he did wake up son Henry (Noah Jupe) to kiss his forehead and tell him he loves him.
Maybe.
Then there’s the matter of Jonathan’s colleague at the hospital, who seems to panic when Grace asks if he’s talked to Jonathan.
Grace’s father Franklin (Donald Sutherland) offers his support, but questions the strength of Grace’s marriage.

As the media descends on Henry’s private school, Sylvia (Lily Rabe) offers Grace a key piece of background information.
The police, led by Detective Joe Mendoza (Edgar Ramirez), seem to be treating Grace as if she’s a suspect.
At the climax of the hour, Grace is frightened by a confrontation that leaves her shaking and changes everything.
That’s the thing about secrets. One way or another, they have to come out.
