Hoard Books

Google has updated its maps in the United States to show “Lake America.”

That the tech giant would roll over so easily based on the latest tantrum of our Cankles in Chief is such an utterly depressing statement of our times.

Canada should throw a huge ceremony to rename Lake Superior to Lake Obama.

Just imagine the stroke it would set off in Mango.

“It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.” – George Orwell, “1984”

There’s a real battle in this country to determine who gets to decide truth.

Under this administration, the National Park Service and the Smithsonian Institution have been forced to censor mentions of slavery and the treatment of Native Americans. Federal websites have been scrubbed of information lauding the accomplishments of Black Americans and resources helpful to the LGBTQ community. Scientists are demonized, and censorship is on the rise.

“We’re coming for the books. We ask that you do it on your own and remove those books.” – Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick.

Books are a threat. They are tangible, real, they have weight.

They are one of the few things left in this society not subject to ads or subscriptions.

You’re not interrupted by a Cialis commercial. No one can revoke your access if you don’t pay up at the end of the month.

Reading is an act of defiance. A library is a symbol of righteous rebellion.

“They say books won’t change the world. Tell that to every colonizer who burned them. To every enslaved person who was punished for reading. Literacy is resistance. Literacy is liberation. The library is a battlefield.” – Karim Wafa-Al Hussaini on social media.

Inflation is through the roof, jobs are impossible to find, the country pisses away about $500 million a day on the war that only Yam Tits wants, but sure, let’s rename a Great Lake.

While Google has capitulated, Apple has not, and MapQuest has stated proudly it never will.

Diaper Donnie hinted he isn’t through. He’s renamed the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario, and he’d really like an ocean.

How much longer does the world have to put up with this moron?

  1. Some Canadians have suggested renaming Lake Michigan to “Lake Epstein”. I’d love to see how the Orange Offal reacts to that.

If you plan to buy books online, I suggest bookshop.org. A little more expensive than Amazon, but they support independent bookstores.
